Psychologist Continuing Education Requirements by State
Credits for our courses can be earned by psychologists in states where mandatory continuing education is required for relicensure and which allow distance learning courses from APA-sponsored providers. You should check with your governing agencies for accreditation requirements before ordering. NOTE: The California Board of Psychology will allow accrual up to 27 hours (75%) of CE via independent learning
The American Board of Professional Psychology is the primary organization for Specialty Board Certification in Psychology. There are currently 15 Specialty Boards and one Subspecialty Board. The American Board of Professional Psychology serves the public by promoting the provision of quality psychological services through the examination and certification of professional psychologists engaged in specialty practice. Board Certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) provides peer and public recognition of demonstrated competence in its affiliated specialty areas. Additionally, Board Certification through ABPP provides the professional with increased opportunities for career growth, including employability, mobility, and financial compensation.
The Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) provides contact information for state, provincial and territorial agencies responsible for the licensure and certification of psychologists throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since applying for licensure/registration can be a confusing and somewhat stressful process, the ASPPB provides information to help you navigate your way through the licensure process.
